where to buy recycled cardboard for garden?

I want to put down a layer of recycled cardboard in my garden that will act as a weed barrier and eventually turn to compost. Anyone heard of this, and where to buy some?

thanks

Uh, you don't buy it. You go to the dumpster behind a liquor store and recycle it yourself. A furniture or appliance store will have bigger boxes, but a liquor store is a much more reliable source.

There's got to be a lot of nitrogen in cardboard one would think. Are glues an issue?

Stay away from white cardboard. Dioxin and such. Dollar stores generally have LOADS of cardboard. Happy to have it hauled away, otherwise they pay to dispose of it.

It seems like there would be chemicals in the cardboard that the plants would suck right up. I don't think it's a great idea... just pick the weeds.

How about newsprint?

So there are no products sold as weed screen material using recycled cardboard? It's just cardboard we are talking here?
Just lay some cardboard down? ah...hm. Does recycled break down quicker I assume?

Use old intact newspaper. Put it in place over the weeds with rocks or similar to hold it tightly in place, water it well and often.
It will kill the weeds and keep their nutrients in place.

Cut slits in the paper after a few months to plant your veggies.
You will still need nitrogen fertilizer, since rotting newspaper draws nitrogen as it breaks down, but releases it later.
It gets easier the second time. It's a great low-input way to open new garden space.
Look on it as experiment, see how well it works.

Lazy man's vegetable gardening... I love it.
